After dredging the depths of the Internet for several months, Geekcorps has found a few old tires, a missing Wal-Mart(tm) shopping cart, and Wayan Vota. The cart was returned to Wal-Mart, the tires sent to Geekcorps project in Mali, and Wayan stepped into the role of head geek of IESC’s Geekcorps division as of the 25th of October.
Wayan comes to Geekcorps with a decade of technology and development experience, from PricewaterhouseCoopers to the Peace Corps. He will be applying this experience to work on Geekcorps’ exciting projects in West Africa and to continue to develop new programs that create opportunities for Geeks to apply their skills in the developing world.
Geekcorps also completed its move from North Adams, Massachussetts, to Washington, DC, in September, and is now fully integrated with IESC.

Papou Coulibaly is young boutique owner in Ouélessébougou. Previously, Geekcorps partnered with Papou to create a Cybertigi - an Internet access point for the local community via a wireless link to a Community Information & Learning Center (CLIC).
