PICTA opens first training center in Lebanon

Middle East business resource AME Info reported on Wednesday, October 25, that “the PCA ICT Academy [PICTA], an ICT development project which aims to transform the lives of thousands of families throughout Lebanon, announced the opening of a training and technology centre in Baalbek.” PCA ICT Academy is a collaborative effort among multiple companies and NGOs, including IESC, Intel, MercyCorps, Cisco, Microsoft, UNDP and CA.

IESC is a partner in the PICTA initiative and the AIM-IT program provides:

  • Internet Connectivity setup and Wireless connectivity within the PICTA Centers (for 10 centers distributed throughout Lebanon)
  • Technical Assistance training for the PICTA Center managers in order to manage and support the Wireless network

The formation of PCA ICT Academy was previously reported in September.
