Geekcorps Supports Lebanon’s ICT Industry

20 December 2006 in News, AIM-IT by Geekcorps

GitexWith funding from the United States Agency for International Development, USAID, IESC Geekcorp’s Access to International Markets through Information Technology (AIM-IT) Program facilitated the participation of a delegation of 17 Lebanese ICT firms at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (Gitex 06) in Dubai. This is the largest Information Technology exhibition in the Middle East.

Dr. Douglas Fuss, Geekcorps’ U.S.-based expert, provided technical assistance to the 17 Lebanese ICT companies in order to assist them with their export strategy and international marketing. During the exhibition, the Lebanese ICT companies generated numerous new international business leads - one company generated 74 possible leads as a result of participating in the exhibition! After the event, the Lebanese ICT companies shared positive feedback and expressed their intention of coming back and exhibiting in next year’s Gitex ‘07 event. One AIM-IT client wrote “without the help of IESC [Geekcorps] we wouldn’t have the opportunity to explore our presence through Gitex that presented to us many opportunities from meeting with serious prospects, to potential dealers in many countries.”
