AIM-IT LogoIn November 2006, IESC’s Access to International Markets through Information Technology (AIM-IT) program sponsored seventeen Lebanese ICT companies in exhibiting and participating in the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX). The 26th edition of GITEX, one of the largest ICT exhibitions in the world, was held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

There have already been a number of client success stories as a result of the quality of technical assistance provided by AIM-IT, a USAID funded program, during the GITEX’06 exhibition. Ethos Knowledge Management Solutions is one such example.

Ethos has recruited new employees because of the clients they met at GITEX, and they are still getting new clients and closing deals from those GITEX leads. Because of GITEX, the company has succeeded in accessing the Saudi market, and getting clients in Dubai. Ethos’ participation in the AIM-IT program and GITEX helped stabilize their revenues at a time when the Lebanese market was not stable.

The IESC AIM-IT program support for the Lebanese ICT mission to GiTEX ‘06 included the following key services:

  • Financial support through subsidizing booth rental and decoration
  • IESC Technical Assistance Service provided from IESC’s U.S. expert Dr. Douglas Fuss and European ECTI expert Mr. Daniel Lorpin
  • An event briefing report by the IESC and ECTI experts delivered after the conclusion of the exhibition. The briefing reports include recommendation action plans to assist ICT companies in expanding to international markets, the experts’ reports will be tailored according to the profile of each company
  • Technical Assistance service support and follow-up after the GiTEX ‘06 event in order to help the ICT companies further develop new business linkages in the international markets
