The Other CMMI for Development at SEPG 2007
28 March 2007 in News, Experts needed, Featured, AIM-IT by Wayan Vota
This morning, Wayan Vota, Director of Geekcorps, spoke at the Software Engineering Process Group annual meeting on the other CMMI for Development - Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) for International Development.
In the IESC Geekcorps program, Accessing International Markets thru Information Technology (AIM-IT), CMMI is being applied as a differentiator, an international seal of operational process quality for Lebanese IT companies, increasing the ability of the IT industry to be a driver of the Lebanese economy.
CMMI provides a known, audited, and accepted metric of a company’s operational maturity, a standard that Lebanese IT firms are seeking to acquire to compete in international markets. AIM-IT is educating software companies on the benefits and the investments required for CMMI audits, the requirements for advancement to higher CMMI maturity levels, and the marketing and sales opportunities of CMMI audited firms.
In this effort, IESC Geekcorps is recruiting for mid-career CMMI practitioners. Professionals who can both train local consultants and companies on CMMI processes and teach the IT industry how to market CMMI audited firms effectively and profitably in international markets.
If you are excited about teaching other software professionals in small groups, with a focus in hands-on learning that has immediate and positive impact on the economic development of Lebanon, register now to be a Geekcorps volunteer expert in Capability Maturity Model Integrated.
