Geekcorps Volunteer Also Known as the “Open Source Guy”
27 April 2007 in News by Geekcorps
Geekcorps volunteer Adrian Woodhead has become the “Open Source Guy” on iCommons.org. He, along with an Open Source colleague, will provide regular commentary on all things Open Source, beginning with this month’s posting entitled “Why did you do it? Why did you give that thing away?” in which he and his partner in crime list the reasons why people contribute to open source software projects.
Adrian has just completed his first stint as a Geekcorps Volunteer in Cape Town, South Africa where for the past 3 months he’s been working on Geekcorps’ Digital Freedom Initiative which promotes economic growth by transferring the benefits of information and communication technology to universities, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
