AIM-IT in Lebanon’s Daily Star

“Lebanon risks being left behind in the new global economy unless it develops an awareness of developing relationships between government and businesses,” a recent article in Lebanon’s Daily Star announces. In the article, IESC spokesman Mohsen Farran says that Lebanon’s IT and tourism sectors are particularly in need of assistance — exactly the areas that the AIM-IT program targets for improvement.

Geekcorps success cited in Foreign Aid and Private Sector Development

Watson BookGeekcorps has a starring role in the new Watson Institute publication Foreign Aid and Private Sector Development (PDF, 493 Kb) by Carol Lancaster and others. Our best mention:

In Ghana, IESC/Geekcorps has enabled many ICT firms to increase their share of the domestic market by helping them to introduce new products. Within the first year of the Accra Technology and Skills Transfer Project, for instance, 87% of IESC Geekcorps’ clients were reporting that they could offer new or improved products or services as a result of assistance (Halleran, a).
